THE ARTIST

The Royal Pavilion, Brighton, was constructed as the seaside pleasure palace of King George IV. Queen Victoria visited the Pavilion several times between 1837 and 1845. The hand-painted wallpaper in her bedroom, recently returned to the Pavilion from Buckingham Palace and restored, features jewel colours, exotic plants, and birds, transporting the young queen to another world far from the busy streets of Brighton.
